I Know What You're Thinking...

Google Sheets is SCARY!

  • Perhaps you’re completely new to Sheets and amazed at what others are creating, but haven’t shown the courage to jump in just yet. If Sheets is completely foreign to you, but you’re a lifelong learner ready to tackle this new software, you’re in the right place! Forget dipping your little toe to check the temperature, dive in with us!

  • Maybe you’ve tried to keep up with the trends and took a stab at creating resources with Google Sheets. But, it led to hours upon hours of hanging out with your buddy YouTube. All while contemplating your love-hate relationship with the video search engine, you couldn’t help but feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and slightly confused as you consumed all the haphazard advice from teachers that lack both experience and knowledge of Google Sheets.

  • Potentially you even invested money in templates and ended up with a bunch of resources that looked exactly like your competition. How can you stand out in a crowded marketplace, when you’re just copying what others are doing?

  • You thought these resources may help fill the void in your TpT shop where self-checking resources should reside, but all they really did was make your store blend in with the crowd.

  • You felt overwhelmed spending all this time to create resources that didn’t look professional, wouldn’t accept answers as intended, weren’t differentiated, and to top it all off with whipped cream AND a cherry, students were finding ways to cheat!

Please Send Help...

What if I told you it didn’t have to be this way?  What if you were doing it all wrong?  What if the time you spent was wasted due to your lack of knowledge?

In fact, what if I told you, you don’t even know what you don’t know. Let that sink in for a minute…

With the right skillset, your customers (and their students) will be begging for more self-checking resources created with Google Sheets!

The Google Sheets resources you create, such as two player games, will allow students time to think through their answers while still engaged in a friendly, inclusive competition with their peers.

Say goodbye to the fast and furious big name online games that require speed.  Step aside for the new kid on the block...  YOUR self-checking, self-scoring games that all students can enjoy without the pressure of the countdown timer.

Not only will your resources be self-checking, engaging, inclusive, differentiated, unique to your store, and professional, BUT they will take a fraction of the time to create!

We're so excited to see what you'll create!

This signature program provides teacher authors like you the basic knowledge of Google Sheets so they can create whatever resource they can dream up.  The program breaks down formulas and formatting to make Google Sheets accessible to teachers, unlike your average business tutorial that pops up in the search bar on YouTube.

After following the step-by-step process, teacher authors are relieved to finally have the knowledge and tools to create engaging resources faster and better than ever before.

You’ll go from barely understanding how to work with Sheets to competent and confident that your resources are truly amazing.  In fact, you could probably up the price a little knowing what you’ve created is truly unique.  Not to mention, you’ll spend less time in the creation process once you conquer the process and procedures with tactful formulas.

In fact, during class one day, we were playing an online game and as always, the gameplay ended pretty quickly because the game was based on “speed and accuracy”.  These types of games are ideal for students who can click quick and think fast.  However, the winner of this particular game surprised me due to what I was witnessing from him during class.

Sure enough, when I checked the statistics at the end of the game, the student claiming first place missed 19 questions.  19 Questions!  This student, the winner of the game, got 19 questions wrong and only answered 13 correctly.  That’s a 41%!  To make it even worse, the student with 8 correct questions in a row (100% accuracy) didn’t stand a chance to win.

It’s games like this that make me question big name online gaming companies, especially for students who take their time, think deeply, and focus on accuracy.  It was at this very moment I wanted to come up with a solution to this problem.

I’m single handedly on a mission to bring engaging, self-checking resources and multi-player games to students of all ability levels.

Review and practice activities with all the fun, minus the fast and furious.  In order to spread my mission and reach more classrooms, teachers, and students, I am teaching teacher authors how to use Google Sheets to create self-checking resources, including self-scoring, two player games!

Making quality information more accessible to educators and teacher authors allows more students to benefit from practice activities that provide ALL students the opportunity for success

What Makes this Program Unique?

In my signature program, you’ll learn all the necessary formulas and conditional formatting tricks you need to create beautifully engaging resources quickly and efficiently.  You’ll be up and running with your very own templates you can easily reuse to create engaging bundles to reach more students and bring in some extra cash.

Let’s take a look at exactly what we’ll be learning...

Bonuses

And, just in case you’re ready to implement this TOMORROW, I’m including templates you can edit and sell in your store ASAP! But that’s not all, I’m also throwing in bonus videos and additional downloads on top of the core content!

  • Bonus Video

Using Google Sheets to automatically create incorrect answer choices for math problems.

  • Quick Reference & Formula Cheat Sheet

Tackle common problems and issues with the Quick Check Reference Guide. Also, forget writing all your formulas from scratch. Swipe my student and teacher tested formulas to create the perfect resources.

  • Bonus Templates

Literally need to add a resource to your shop tomorrow? I have you covered with my ready-made templates. Just add your content and start sharing.

Yea, but...

  • "Steve, I don't have time to commit to a full course on Google Sheets."

  • What if I told you you’ll actually save time committing to a course? Add up all the hours you waste researching YouTube every time you have an issue or question about Sheets. Also, don’t forget to include all the wasted time copy and pasting with formulas. There’s a faster way!

  • “I don’t know any coding.”

  • To be honest with you, I can’t stand when people refer to formulas and formatting as coding. I have absolutely no background in coding! I don’t know Javascript, I rarely use VBA, and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve opened Google AppScript to make edits to my resources. You are NOT recreating a website. You are simply learning how to manipulate a very effective software application to do what you want it to do.

  • “Every time I try to learn how to make a new resource with Google Sheets, other teacher sellers are already onto the next trendy/viral resource. I can’t keep up!”

  • The problem here is you’re trying to keep up. Instead of trying to keep up with the trends, invest the time in learning to create whatever your heart desires and be the creator of the next best resource everyone is chasing to replicate. First pixel art, then puzzle reveals, followed by progression images, riddles, search and finds. Stay ahead of the trends by using your new knowledge to create the next best thing!

  • “Can working with Google Sheets really be that quick and simple?”

  • Well, I once created over 25 pixel art resources in a four hour session. Impossible, right? Not even close! The more you know about formulas and formatting, the less time it takes to create engaging self-checking resources

What will you create?

We can't wait to see how your new skills transform your resources.

FAQ

  • My lack of knowledge with Google Sheets makes me a little nervous about joining. Is this course right for me?

The course will cover very basic formulas and information about Sheets to benefit new learners. Any and all formulas are broken down and explained in the workbook as a reference guide. Although the course will cover some complex formulas, they are all broken down and explained along the way to make it super simple to follow along with no knowledge of spreadsheets.

  • I already use Google Sheets to create self-checking resources, but think I may benefit from additional trainings. Does this course include advanced techniques to take my Sheets resources to the next level?

Not only will this course take your resources to the next level, but it will probably start taking you less time during the creation process as well. Once you know more about the formatting and formulas, you can apply your knowledge to create resources faster than ever before!

  • Will the information I learn in the workshop transfer to Excel?

Google Sheets can be transferred to Excel by clicking File, Download, Microsoft Excel. Although both programs have many similarities, there are differences and the course will focus strictly on creating resources with Google Sheets. Those sheets can be transferred to Excel, but some adjustments may need to be made after downloading to Excel. Also, please note that not all functionality transfers fluidly from Sheets to Excel.

  • I would like to create self-checking resources for vocabulary recall, matching, and mathematic calculations. Is it possible to do all of these tasks with Google Sheets resources?

All of these options are possible. In fact, in the course, we will discuss strategies for creating text answers, number answers, multiple correct answers, case sensitive answers, fill in the blank and even multiple choice.

  • It would be great to include images for my questions. Is that possible?

It certainly is possible! Inside the course we take a look at all the ways you can insert images, have images appear, and even have students receive one question at a time as an image.

  • I'm not a TpT Seller or teacher author. Can I still enroll in the course?

Of course! We'd love to have you join us inside. Although this course is recommended for TpT sellers, it is also appropriate for any educator looking to learn more about Google Sheets to create engaging resources for students.

  • All of this looks amazing, but I’m short on time! Will I actually have enough time to complete this course and implement what I have learned?

The course is meant to be completed in just three weeks. If you can set aside one hour each week to engage in the lessons and activities, you will be well on your way to creating engaging resources with Google Sheets that not only take you less time to create, but look amazing as well!

  • How long will it take me to create Google Sheets resources from scratch?

It really depends on what type of resource you are trying to create. If you want to make something fairly simple like a progression picture or puzzle template, you can easily create a reusable template in well under an hour.

  • I’ve heard you need to know coding to create Google Sheets resources. Is this true?

Not at all! In fact, many of the formulas and formatting in Google Sheets are based on simple TRUE/FALSE statements. If you can write a TRUE/FALSE statement explaining what you want to happen, it’s fairly simple to turn it into a formula Google Sheets can understand. No Javascript, App Script, or coding background is required to be successful.
